In this very special presentation, Andie guides our guests through a discussion on the legacy of Ellen Ripley, what she means to everyone as women and what it's like to be female fans in a very male-dominated fandom. This is hands down, one of our best episodes we've released. We hope you enjoy!
241 // ALIEN DAY | Alien Romulus: Behind the Scenes with Conceptual Artist Dane Hallett

242 // ALIEN DAY: Interviewing Christian Kennedy, Director of No Man's Land (2024)
There's a saying in Hollywood: if you want to get your film made, be able to pitch it in an elevator ride. The setup for No Man's Land, Christian Kennedy's mega-hit Alien fan film, is about as pitchable as it gets: "Battlefield I meets Aliens."
Of course, a pitch will only get you so far. The execution is where the real magic happens. And Christian's film—which is just under 30 minutes long and has already racked up nearly 4.5 million views—is a masterclass in execution.
With killer cinematography, great effects, period-accurate costuming, and some great xenos, No Man's Land has been a massive hit with Alien fans since its release just two months ago.
In this Alien Day special, Jaime and Perry discuss the film with Christian and learn how he brought such an ambitious vision to life without a massive Hollywood budget.
Make sure you watch the film first! You can do so here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Fnlq2T0Vg&t=1459s
Happy Alien Day 2024 from all of us at Perfect Organism!

237 // I Hope You Get to Hear It One Day: Ten Years of Isolation Part Two
Alien Isolation is a game that captures the essence of Alien in profound ways. But does it stick too close to the film that inspired it? Is Amanda Ripley's story too similar to that of her mother?
Spoiler alert: the answer is no. But on this episode, Jaime, Patrick, Christian, and guest CP have a hell of a time coming around to that conclusion.

235 // You're Still Looking, Aren't You? Ten Years of Isolation Part One
Ten years have passed since Alien: Isolation first terrified and enthralled us back in 2014. Over the course of this decade, we've seen Isolation go from sleeper hit to something absolutely iconic—not just in Alien fandom, but in video game history.
We are celebrating ten years of this amazing game with a full anniversary series we'll be releasing throughout the year. To kick things off, Jaime, Patrick, Christian, and Perry reflect on the legacy of this landmark entry in the Alien saga.
233 // Imagined Futures Part Two: What If Alien 3 Never Happened?
Depending on whom you ask, Alien 3 is either the moment the Alien franchise went off the rails or the moment it found its poetry. For many of us, it's both of these things at the same time.
But what if it hadn't been made? What if James Cameron had returned to make a more direct sequel to Aliens? Or what if William Gibson's film had made it to the screen? Or what if something entirely new—and even MORE out-there—happened instead?
On this roundtable, the whole PO team ponders these questions—and serves up some of their own ideas for what we might've gotten had Alien 3not made its way to screens 32 years ago.
232 // Dark Descent Revisited: Interviewing Writer Thibaut Claudel
Aliens: Dark Descent takes some wild narrative risks—and the consensus among fans seems to be those risks paid off. In this interview, Christian and Patrick talk to Tindalos Narrative Designer and Writer Thibaut Claudel about his time on the project. We gain some great insights into 20th Century's handling of the IP and how it's changed somewhat since the Disney Era began a few years ago (hint: it's not what you might expect!), and we learn a ton about the process of putting a game like this together.

232 // Return to The Forbidden Planet : Part Three | The Crew of the Nostromo

In part three of our re-investigation of ALIEN we dig into the crew of the Nostromo, who they are, their iconic status and how their costumes informs their character.
Happy New Year from all of us at Perfect Organism: The Alien Saga Podcast.
(Special Presentation) FRAME RATE: Godzilla Minus One (2023)
** For more content like this, join our Patreon at patreon.com/perfectorganism **
2023 was quite a year at the movies. "Barbenheimer" became a cultural phenomenon. Marvel lost its mojo. And a ten million-dollar subtitled Godzilla movie became the most successful live-action Japanese film in US history.
But Godzilla Minus One is so, so much more than just a box office success story. It's a deeply human tale that feels urgently suited to our time in world history. It manages to be both terrifying and profoundly moving, with unforgettable performances, a rigorous attention to detail, and one of the great musical scores of the 21st century.
It's also an absolute masterclass in how to create character-driven storytelling. The characters in Minus One feel like living, breathing, fully-realized human beings.
In this impassioned episode of Frame Rate, Jaime, Christian, and lifelong Godzilla nut Patrick discuss why this film is so important, and examine the reasons why Takashi Yamazaki's new Goji vision is resonating so deeply with audiences around the world.
231 // Imagined Futures Part One: What If Aliens Never Happened?
What if Aliens was never made? That's the question that starts off our final episode and roundtable of the year. Join the entire team at Perfect Organism Podcast as we sit down to talk about the future of Alien if Aliens had never been made. Believe us when we say, this was a challenging topic. James Cameron's Aliens is the defining film of the Alien saga, so coming up with ideas about what a future story could look like was a bit of an adventure. We hope you all enjoy this episode and thank you so much for supporting us throughout the years. We look forward to returning in 2024 with a continuation in a couple of our ongoing series, new content and fantastic coverage.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas for those who celebrate!
230 // Interviewing Mario Benvenuto, Alien Escape Room Creator
Mario Benvenuto, the maker behind the popular Wired_Workshop YouTube channel, managed to pull off what many Alien fans would consider a dream project: an Alien-themed escape room. Full of detail, Easter Eggs, and electronic wizardry, his escape room was a love letter to a franchise he loves dearly.
Mario is also a Patron, and has helped out with some prop making on our upcoming Alien Day 2024 film!
In this wide-ranging (and hilarious) episode, Patrick, Christian, Andie, and Mario discuss how the escape room came together, and end up having a much larger conversation about props in the Alien universe and what makes them so special.
Check out Mario on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@WiredWorkshop and on IG at instagram.com/wired_workshop!

In this discussion, we jump into 1979 with the reading of first hand accounts of what it was like to see ALIEN on the big screen at that time. From there we move into the discussion of the first character we meet in the film, the Nostromo. We had such a fun time discussing this topic and we are excited for you to hear it.
